what in the hell.....WHY JJ...WHY???!!!!

i'm sure there has got to be some reason for all these different things happening,
but with all the extra codespace WHY IS HE TAKING PARTS OF THE OS OUT??!?

i don't get it. i figured at first he took out velocity layers cause maybe they interfered with aftertouch, or something else along those lines.
but he put it back in and took out all the velocity controlled aspects of filter,attack and start instead??!??

if codespace ain't the issue anymore is it really neccesary to delete stuff.
i'm sure JJ ain't deleting stuff for the hell of it but GODDAMN, this is getting depressing everytime i see new info on his page.

and now switching sequences is ONLY immediate?


how can a JJ OS update look so amazing and so dissapointing at the same time?


all i really wanted from the new OS was the non destructive chopping,
but to get that feature i'm gonna have to give up so many other features i use on every single beat i make.


damn...i was so excited to buy this update.
now its looking more like i'm just gonna be curious to try it for ten minutes and then never buy it....

hopefully when we all finally get to try this OS it will be absolutely amazing just like every other OS update JJ has given us,
but right now all my excitement about this new OS is getting repeatedly kicked in the balls everytime i see new info about what he's deleted from the OS...

he put velocity layers back into the os by removing the above.
look closely at the os2 images again.

punchdrunk, i'm with you. i don't like the decisions he's making. i can't believe we're back to this depressing game of pulling important stuff out just to make room for new stuff.

gotta blame akai, tho. it's their fault for putting the os for a performance sampler & sequencer on a fkking cell phone chip. if akai had 2 brain cells to rub together they would have upgraded the 1000 by now to bring it's capabilities up to 2007 standards but they released that crap 500 instead.

i'm feeling what ur saying 200%......all of the above, vel>env/pitch/sstart.....filter2,.....bad moves JJ.

but b4 we write it off completely, JJ may re-introduce things, who knows, lets check it mid december.

also i noticed this..... in JJ's images of the new screens:

"Velocity:79" - above the adsr in the AMP ADSR IMG, could be velocity mod of the env.
"Velocity>EG:13" - amongst the attributes in the FILTER ADSR IMG.

more vel mod?

i'm not in such as bad a position as u think, im happy with this os V1 it sure is blinding compared to the wackai os, if V2 isnt for me, only JJ's losin out - to the tune of 40$....oh and the forum for missing anything i might have to offer in way of experiences here n there. but its no biggie.
