How to record with S/Pdif?

I thought all I needed to do was plug the Digital cable to the In on my MPC and to the Out of my soundcard and it would work? Do I need two cables or something?

First you have to select that output from your soundcard, within either the apps' software (which depends) or the audio properties on your pc. Second, select the digital input to be the main input source on the mpc. You should be getting something by then. Also make sure the main analog outs are hooked up so you can monitor what you're doing.

Oh, and before I forget, *USE 75-Ohm single coax cabling instead of general use stereo rca's, there is a big difference*.
