mpc 1000 a/d convertors or usb?

Hi, I have just ordered my mpc 1000 and is pretty excited about it. just 1 thing concerns me, how good are the a/d convertors? i've heard a comparison on this forum between the s50 (which i guess is the roland) and the mpc 1000 and the mpc just seemed so tinny with no bottom end.

Would it be better to transfer thru USB?

Does anyone have a comparison they can show me when a sound is recorded in through the analog ins and transfered via usb in the mpc 1000?

transfering via usb has nothing to do with sound quality, usb simply transfers data without changing the dynamics of the sound. however it sounds to you once recorded into the mpc will not be any different than the way it sounds once transfered to your computer. the only difference in sound at that point would be between your headphones/monitors and the speakers on your computer. imo, what you put in the mpc1000 is what you get out, very clean and accurate, but not in a bad way by any means.

thanks for that reply pad, i realise that transfering anything via usb is an information process, i guess what i was trying get at is the quality of the a/d convertors on the 1k, would i retain all the quality and pressence of my sample if i recorded it thru the a/d converters?

The sound would be identical if you went through the digital I/O as opposed to going through the converters.

Yes, so as I siad I'm just trying to find out what the converters quality is like. If I havent got a computer and i need to smaple in, will they gimmie the quality i need?
