"OS2 coexists with os1.
Although it cannot be used simultaneously, it can be used by turns.
Please use os1 to use the function of os1.
Please use os2 to use the function of os2."

I've got alot of faith in JJ and I love OS1 but the more I hear about this new OS the more its starting to sound like an abortion. God bless all you 1st generation beta testers.

i think i read it not good lol... for what i understand now is that:
u have both os on it.
if u boot it up normally os1 starts and if u boot it up with tap tempo hold then os2 starts ??? (this would be **** sick! lol)

it should be the other way around. seems to me that someone would upgrade to OS2 with the intention of it being their primary OS.

So I think it should be that it boots up normally with OS2, but if you hold tap tempo then it reverts to OS1

i think the only one that might actually bother me is:

"The Next sequence in a main screen is IMMEDIATELY START only."

because the next seq options are good for the funky jam sessions for which we make with the groovy sounds and all of these kinds of things yes?

also i wonder if the audio tracks will work like the akai 2500 ones and if so can anyone confirm that this is actually how they work:

1. you set a new track to 'audio'
2. start recording, to hear your primo-quality knocking beat ready for your virtuoso rhodes licks
3. ONLY when the trigger threshold is exceeded with your first devastating rhodes chord does the audio recording actually start
4. you have a threshold for silence so that if say 5 secs of silence occurs the track drops out of record to save wasted sample time and mess (effectively an intelligent automated 'strip silence' feature that cleans while you work)
5. when you are done the audio is available as samples, all neatly trimmed and ready to use however you like, or you simply work with how it was recorded, which is SAMPLE-ACCURATE placement of the rhodes licks just how you played them exactly where you played them

if any of this is NOT how it works already, then this is how it SHOULD be implemented*

not sure whether it will need the sequences to be strung together in song mode first (a pain) or will simply run a 'master clock' when audio tracks are actively recording?

*in my opinion

The more I look at version 2 the more I'm confused. It seems to me like we are finally getting to the point where you have to really pick the version that suits your own taste, which is great. But, it seems that ver. 2 gets rid of some important options. The main one to me is no internal click track? That could be a major inconveniance. What I love about the MPC is that it can stand alone. And I don't really see why we would be charged now, when it seems like more has been removed than added. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining at all. I just think that the simple functions that make this machine great need to be preserved. I love the grid edit and I use it guite often. Having it in the main screen would be great but not at the loss of such essentials as an internall click track... Really think about that. Does this mean that you will have to set up a click track with the grid edit every time you want to start a beat from scratch? Yes this would be easy, but every time? Not to mention that we have to pay more than we originally paid for the first os. Will we have to pay for any other upgrades as we were already promissed free upgrades as long as jj was upgrading the program? What am I missing? Why is ADSR so important?
