Help needed with mpc and midi........

hey guys,
i am really frustrated and need help. I have a mpc 2xl and a microkorg. I likem it and enjoy em an d want to intergrate the sounds. I find myself having to sample melodies to my mpc from my microkorg,rather than record a melody from the microkorg while a sequence from the 2xl is playin.I read BOTH manuals thru and thru and cant get it. I also purchased the samplekings video which helped but didnt go into details...they jus mentioned that to do what i want it must me multi-timbral.
Do i need a mixer?I currently have the mpc midi out going to the in of the micro and the in going into the out.do i need to plug in any 1/4 in. jacks..Please help im am starting to get frustrated and am gettin discouraged..

The MicroKorg isn't multi timbral so sequencing more then one track with it isn't possible.

To hear both the Korg and the MPC at the same time you either need a mixer or a soundcard with at least 4 inputs.
