Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

*edit: Master: 2000xl - Slaves: ASR 10 & Moog Voyager

I know how to link up one instrument (midi - 1A device 01) in main sequence window.

But whenever I try to link up a second instrument (midi - 2A device 02) there is no response by the MPC.

Obviously there's something i'm doing wrong.....

Does anyone know how to sync up the second instrument?

:?:

Thanks in advance.....

Do you have it hooked up so that you use midi thru from the first instrument going into midi in of the second? You also have to make sure you have the midi channels set correctly on both instruments.

Alright....i'm starting to make some *slight* progress.

I hooked up the midi thru from ASR, to midi in on the voyager. (good look!)

The voyager plays along with the ASR, but they wont play independently.....ala the voyager plays the same midi data as the ASR (instrument one).

I take it, i need to go into the voyager and change it to channel two?

I'm almost there, man.....

What else do I need to do?

Yeah, that should do it for now. You might be able to program patch changes for the voyager via midi. You can also probably record real time filter sweeps and what not as midi data in your mpc sequence. There's a lot you can do with that set up. I'm kinda envious.
