Sound Problem

Hi!

I bought a MPC yesterday from a guy on eBay, the MPC has a HD + 128 mb RAM. Today I've dropped some new samples etc. on the HD, and when I tried to preview them while loading to my MPC sound quality was really bad, and it was quiet ( I had the Volume Knob on ~75% power). When I restared my MPC everything was fine, my question is that normal in MPC's or is this one broken or something?

Btw. Do you have any good advice for a begginer?

Yo, if I have any tips on how to proceed on the MPC and these forums, I would say read a lot. I haven't had to ask to many questions because I read everything. When working in the environment it all relates and each can be used in "a round about way" with each other. Study the theory of it and you will get going fast. I know It has helped me. Once you see who is who and how they record you will build an identity with your own style (I hope).
I'm new to this too, not Hip Hop, but recording like this. And have haven't had so much fun recording and exploring sound.

To help with the sound, I would straight get a new HD. Any size will do so price will range, and it will be like starting from scratch from the HD side of things. When you recorded your samples, how was the sound level? Or were they the sounds that the guy gave you? If you recorded the sounds, you should have been able to adjust how loud that sound is. The jerk in me questions getting electrical equipment when it comes to ebay. I only wish you had been able to hit the pads yourself and "test drive" the unit before getting it home. How long have you had the MP? Still time to ask questions, or are you to far gone from it. Things and part break on the units no doubt and you can get those parts from MPCSTUFF.COM.

Well I didn't record it, I plugged the MPC to my Laptop and dragged the samples to the MPC HD. The MPC is almost "brand-new" no scratches etc. the problem with the loudness is gone for now, just had it once, kind of wierd...

It's my 2nd Day with the MPC, having a hard time, but still hope it's gonna be better.
