according to the benefits of the performance guarantee:
"REPAIR COSTS COVERED
Parts and labor to repair mechanical or electrical failure caused by defects in workmanship and/or materials and malfunctions under normal operating conditions."
hmmmmm.....
on a side note, i learned that this performance guarantee is divided into two categories:
"A REPLACEMENT PLAN is available for products under $200 and is as simple as it sounds. If the product fails within 24 months, it will be replaced. (Actually, your original purchase price will be refunded and you can go purchase whatever replacement product you desire.)
A REPAIR PLAN is for products over $200 and offers free repair coverage for your product any time during the life of your PG contract. It also offers lots of other great benefits that you can read about elsewhere on this site and FAQ list."
so basically, by default i'm not eligible for flat-out replacement
