i got an idea.. would it be possible, software-wise to make the stereo input into two mono's instead of either L or R. This would be very useful for me, cause i have my s950 hooked up to my 1k through the input and it would be cool to be able to take advantage of more voices/channels that way. To me it seems like a pretty simple job but then again i know nothing about programmin these babies...

whats your 10 p's ????

hey, that's a cool thought. record 2 mono samples simultaneously via stereo ins?

dunno if it's possible
but the way around it is to record it stereo, then copy the same, go to trim, and on one kill the left channel, on the other kill the right channel. it'll take you 30 seconds more than being able to simultaneously record 2 monos.

that's an idea yeah, but the way i use it is just i have a mixerless setup. s950 straight to the mp straight to my interface. What i want is two centered mono channels instead of either a L or R or a stereo where each channel is hardpanned.

edit* Simplyfied: i want to use two mono inputs simultaneously on the input thru.

ohhh so you don't even want to have to record it, you just want to be able to have both L and R come through on separate input thru channels. i dig you.

that's a clever thought though, i'm not gonna lie. it certainly keeps with the specification of the assignable outs - remember in the akai os they were grouped like 12, 34.

now, we have 1, 2, 3, 4, L, and R, in addition to the grouped pairs.

yeah exactly. It would be cool to be able to have the same features on the input as on the outputs.. my thought exactly !

well, remember that FRs aren't really going to happen til march, so keep that in mind...they're receiving TONS of emails these days, so you might have better luck if you mention it later after this whole hype has passed.

these days it's all about getting os2 up n running. it's a really good idea, but it may have to sit on a backburner for a while.

Yeah I tried to hook two basses up to the stereo in's using input thru one time and was disappointed when I realized that it doesn't let you do that.

Would be cool if this could be implemented

(you could always get a mixer though and just run that input thru, but if you had a mixer you wouldn't really need input thru)
