alpha? haha unfortunately not. it's not quite on the fly.

basically, when you turn on chop, each chop takes up the span of the entire sample.

for each chop, you specify the span by changing start and end points.
to progress to the next chop, you hit the next pad. this can be confusing at first and i thought it was a bug.

if you hit pad 1, you see CHOP1. if you hit pad2, you see CHOP2.

etc.

1) the chance of loops in the Audio track into mpc.... i mean you have a sample you can loop it

2) the chance to load certain number of sample and the ability of mpc to create a program in automatic, assigning sample 1 to pad 1, sample 2 to pad 2 and so on

here's one..

if akai-type direct record is added, allow you to record a sample, assign it to a pad and insert the note on event for that pad to the sequence, all while the sequence is still playing.

lfo > sample start / end

or possibility to modify sample start end in realtime via the sliders or via
midi cc in.,,,

scrolling position line in sample edit when you audition the sample would be dope for long samples. guess that's a no-goer

If you mean adjust the start and end points of the sample you can do this all ready: note on>sample start is in the q link screen.

This won't let you "scroll" through the sample on its own, you'd need to use a high note repeat setting to get this effect, and you can't scratch or scrub with it either..not properly anyway.

At the moment OS2 has a slight bug with this(not the most important bug at the moment). It's to do with the OS1 reverse trick:

"trim page" sample loop on>alt loop > tuning +0
"program" tuning of sample +12
1. Note On>sample start low 0 high 100 value 100
2. program tuning is ignored: sample plays back at 0 for reverse section of loop.

i know that you can do this with slider set on "note on"

i thought more of having audio tracks "loops" which continue changing because start end end are modulated by a lfo.

I'd just like to request that version 2 be able to be downloaded using safari (Mac program). A lot of people seem to be having trouble downloading version 2 with Macintosh computers even though all of the other programs, including version 1 and the ADSR file, download without a problem. Thanks in advance...

no problem here downloading with mac...

I think Safari is confused by the ".os2" extension.
Download the OS to your desktop, you'll notice Safari added a ".txt" extension. You'll need to correct this, cause files that end with ".txt" are invisible in the MPC load screen.
After you've downloaded the OS to your desktop select it and open the "Get info" screen by pressing apple + i (or from menu: Archive > Get info).
In the "Get info" screen click on "Name and extension" and delete the ".txt" extension so that the name reads: "mpc1000_jv068.os2".

No problems with Firefox.

a friend just visited he wanted to see the mpc1000 with JJ OS on it,
and we were talking how to play live and what features would be cool etc.
he owns some ensoniq samplers (ASR10) and is quite sure about what he is looking for.

we were talking about what are real LIVE features on the mpc and what is for producing
and we came to the end that most of the features a producing features! which actually
doesnt make so much sense since for producing i can use my computer,
and it would be cool if the mpc would be more kind of a LIVE INSTRUMENT!
my hope is that with the JJOS2 that it goes more in that direction, since for the usual
sequencing and beat making the current jjos1 works well already.

thinking of all i guess it wouldn´t be necessary to add so many _new_ features,
it is more the ability to do the stuff in REALTIME and intuitively, working outside of
the usual sequencer layer.
so no matter if sequencer is on or off!!
thinking more of realtime sample manipulation!

-> possibility to link start and end point, that i can scroll through a sample via MIDI IN
while sample is running/looping, lenght stays the same... (works now only if it is set as
note on which doesn´t make any sense if i want to manipulate a running _loop_
-> play mode selection (forward, backward, alt) in realtime
-> realtime recording without having to stop all after finished recording
-> realtime volume also for noteon-looped-and-running-sounds (as in audiotracks)
-> better fx?
f.e. pitch shifting not only for input through but as internal fx.
3 band eq on every pad? (DJ EQ as on a djmixer?)
-> fx routable on single outputs
-> midi cc in for ALL possible manipulatable values (also LFO speed, intensity, waveform, ...)

what do you think?

I was thinking that it would be useful in a live setting if you were somehow able to set the footsw option to trigger from a program change setting depending on the sequence or song which is playing at the time.

Track Mute Groups / Simult Mute --

so that when you're in the track mute screen you can assign a group of tracks to one single pad for simultaneous muting and unmuting.

that way if you're the type who puts each individual drum on it's own track, you could still assign them to one pad for muting and drop out your whole drum part real-time, etc.
