what is "create error",why cant i save anymore?

i just got an mpc 2500 with an 80 gb harddrive.76 free gb.everything was good until yesterday. i uploaded 65 small wave files that i just converted from recycle thru the usb.still goodmoney.once i tried to save the program and samples the screen read "create error" and didnt save any samples.then i tried to "save entire memory" and that didnt work either.it read "create error."the same thing happened when i tried to save it to my memory cards.what is "create error" and how do i fix this problem?help me out fellas,i done sat here and seen you guys explain quantum physics!plus i just got this thing! i dont want to bring it back but if i have to i will.

i dont have a 2500, but if i got a problem like that, i would call akai customer/tech support

hmmm strange....

I have a 2500 and never had this problem....couple things I can think of off the top...

I know you said you tried saving to cf cards so I dont think thats the prob, but maybe the hard driveis not a compatible HD?

Also what did you save the names of the .wav files as I know the mpc has a problem reading files with long names like 15 characters or something...

so if you named them recycleconvertedsamples1.wav etc try changing the names of the .wavs to RCS1.wav instead.....

other then that man the only thing I could say is maybe you have the older akai buggy OS....in which I would say download the newest OS from akai OR purchase the JJ OS install that and see if it still occurs....

last thing is try some other .wavs that you didnt convert maybe its the .wavs themselves or make sure they are 16bit 44.1 khz because if they are a higher bitrate I dont think the mpc will read them...

Hope one of these things gets you situated man.....all else fails return it!

the os is 1.23 so i'll call akai and format the harddrive then reload everything.but if that dont work then i'll take it back.appeciate the help!
