If you have the samples on the MPC or your PC hard drive you can
use the pad editor in aksys.

Just open the pad editor and drag the files where you want them.
once they are in their desired places save the program via your MPC or aksys.

right click the mpc icon you'll see pad editor if your getting that confused with the program editor which you also can assign samples with

besides that you have to load the samples first, no reason it shouldnt work, perhaps you overlooked something simple above is just ideas

aah it worked,, not the most efficient way though. Lots of softsynths have a way to autoassign the samples to a keygroup, i think it should be used in the mpc as well.

you mean soft samplers?

if you need autoassign (my understanding) if you assign it a sample to a keygroup, then you just set the span it will range, pretty simple, but maybe thats not what your talking about

I hope you remember that the pad editor is for drum programs. You can change the note numbers for a keygroup. If you want to assign samples to a keygroup use program editor, click one edit, drag the sample to the keygroup as many as you want. And spread to assign the range. If you haven`t already download the Akai Akys Version " User`s guide for more info. :D
