how do you usually chop your samples... a couple of friends of mone do what they call the quarter note chop.. how is that??? im eneding up with a bunch of unwanted chops

Chop what you want and what size(s) you want. My method is to just do what fits and I want/like. No set method. Doing what everbody tells you to and not experimenting,that just infringes creativity.

As everybody here said, do what feels right...Some samples don't need to be chopped, others need to be chopped to 8th or quarter notes...But a lot of samples you chop to get what 's in your head so no method to the madness...
