absolutely. the bare bones of a multisampled keygroup program - by far what takes the longest to do in the mpc - could be achieved in moments by a clever programmer. perhaps even this could be done without worrying about all other aspects, in effect leaving them completely blank. after all, unless the programmer modeled jj's adsr, the mpc1000's filter, etc successfully, we wouldn't be able to preview them until they are on the mpc anyway. plus, GPE makes all that stuff very very easy.
the biggest thing here is establishing the keygroup.
god, i wish i could code.
mike and jimbrowski, you'd be saints and kings for this kind of thing. this, coupled with the Refill unpacker software would be so nice for creating tons of sound banks for the mpc.
for some things, i like using reason more, but for others, i'd always prefer to drop my melodies on the mpc. basslines, for instance. my weakest area. primarily because i'm using reason to compose my basslines and i am never happy with it. whenever i make a bassline on the mpc, though, i'm far more pleased.
