Updating the MPC 1000 OS to 2.10 or 2.11...

Does updating the OS to version to 2.10 or 2.11 give you the Slice function when under Trim mode? Does updating the OS wipe the internal drive clean of the MPC 1000?

Thanks...looks like the fourth fix/addition was the slice function under OS 2.0 update...Do you happen to have direct experience doing this? During the process of updating the OS, does it actually erase the internal drive of the MP?

Funny thing you mention that... I actually just upgraded to 2.11 yesterday. I don't have an internal drive and just a flash. I plugged in the mpc to my pc thru usb mode and I backed up my data on my flash card to my pc. I then installed the update and it said it would write the flash card. After the update I was going to load the back up to my flash card, but when I went to load it seemed like ALL my files were still there. Im not sure how it would work with an internal HD so I would back up before you update.

alright. cool. so it sounds like in your scenario, it actually just wrote the OS update to your Compact Flash, and didn't erase anything on your card...But, yeah, backing everything up anyways is a definite. Thanks again!

it doesn't really matter if they do or don't.

How are you going to backup your hard drive? I was going to do the 2.11 upgrade but can't figure out how to backup the hard drive. It doesn't show up when connected to a PC, unless I missed it somewhere.
