Hi, im new and i got a question that might seem dumb

i was really looking on buying an mpc1000 but when i read on the akai website, it only mentions that the mpc2500 and the mpc4000+ can actually sample. i dont know if im just blind but when i read the features on the 1k and the 500, it really only mentions the fact that it can be used to play live and to make drum patterns. my goal is to buy and mpc that will let me sample(kicks, snares, vocals etc..). can the 1k or the 500 sample like the big boys? ive been making beats for what seems like forever and i really need to step my game up. plz somebody help.

i see that it says sampler, but the 2500 says, "Chop–shop– slices a loop into individual samples with automatic pad assignment" which the 1k dosent. whats the difference. thank you for your reply

sorry again if this is a stupid question, i just dont wanna buy the wrong thing. :oops:

with an mpc1000 you can sample in analog and digital as well as transfer WAV files from your computer to a flashcard and into your mpc. you can pretty much get any sound you want into it.

The JJ OS2 now has the "chop shop" feature.

New Feature. It can have now two or more start point and end point.
One sample is divided into plurality and it is assigned to PAD, respectively.
PAD01-> chop1
PAD02-> chop2
PAD03-> chop3

PAD16-> chop16

lol im still not clear on what the JJ OS is. But do u guys think that the 1k is what im looking for?i just dont understand why its says "chop shop" on the 2500 but not on the 1k. i need your guys expertise. :lol:

dude you're still struggling after the links people have posted up? Maybe this shit is not for you then...

Anyways chop shop is a feature that comes standard on the 2500, but not on the 1000. JJ made an OS, unrelated to Akai, that you can load onto your 1000 that gives you the chop shop feature. You can still chop samples on the regular Akai OS, it's just not as quick and easy.

Just read the links man and search around this site. There's a lot of good information buried on this site under a big pile of shit, like this thread for example.

^^^^^ What hes trying to say is...well....fuk it he already said it. Search son search! 99.9999999999999999% of the MPC issues you will experienced is somewhere on this thread. Seek and you shall find young grasshopper...lol

Thats why i made this post cause i cant find the exact answer to the question ive been to answer. i know theres alot of really useful info on here. thx everyone for there info and input, and dont tell me if this **** is for me or not just cause im not familiar with the mpc game, i know its for me.
and how do u get this OS into the mpc, just download it to ur PC then.....o_O

seriously, man... the same questions you've been asking have been asked last week... and plenty times before that. not to be a dick, but click NEXT PAGE a few times and read up... noone but yourself will know what's best for you. but for you to know, you've gotta read up..... if necessary, just use the SEARCH function. for what it's worth, the MPC1000 is -THE SHIZNIT-... but only for people willing to read up on it and learn all it's hidden features... so step your game up.
