From some info I have gathered... If you know the Akai OS then you can def transition to the JJOS and also benefit from the upgraded options.... I was told that I should get comfortable with Akai's OS and then move on to the JJ system.

My advice came from a very reliable source.....

I did a lot of research, and I just got my MPC 1k a week ago and I jsut went straight into JJ.. well not right away, I was using the AKAI OS for like 2-3 hours and started getting really frustrated with how shit it was.. so I just went with JJ and my workflow doubled.. .

The main reason is because I have the old pads. . so when i record, JJ's program immediately deletes the double hits during recording, and sometimes 80% of my hits are doubled..

god bless the Japanes Jenius

JJOS is an add on in essense. It still has the regular functions of the Akai OS, but with added bonuses that make certain things doable and also adds a few extras..... But knowing the basics will def help in the long run....

dont bother at all with the AKAI os. Just get the JJ and learn once instead of learning, deprogramming yourself and then learning again. All that time wasted learing different Os's you could be making beats.
