Traveler, I am.

I own a mpc-1000 and have been haveing a great time with it. I allso do alot of traveling. (i'm in the military) I want to bring my MPC on deployment but it is a little too bulky and I might not have a place to plug it in. Now the MPC 500 fits my needs as far as portability goes, What would I be loseing by switching over to the 500 and is it even worth it to buy one of these, if I choose to do so?
