3k/asr10 combo

Trying to get these going together. Just want to make drum patterns with the mpc and midi up so I can use the asr sounds(bass,keys,etc)....help!!!!

You can do a couple of things. IMHO sequencing as well as any kind of drum/percussion programing on the 3K will produce better results, regardless of where your sounds are coming from. I actually kind of like the sequencer on the ASR-10, but editing on it isn't as fun.

I assume that since you started that thread you may have some additional questions, which I would be happy to answer if you provide specific details.

Are you still using reason+protools?

Do you want all of your sounds coming from the ASR-10?

I Don't have protools right now because I had a long spell of bad luck with my equiptment(dropped mbox). Then it took this local shop almost 3 months to fix my asr screen(just got it back today).now I have reason, 3k, and asr. I really don't like midi but I know its a good thing.I want to sequence drums in the MP and use the keys for my other sounds. Should I use the asr sequencer for its sounds and just use the mp to link up timing wise? How would you use the three together? Thankz

Ok.I got midi out Mp to in asr and out asr to in MP. In order to record notes from asr to mp I had to set mp type to midi(not drum) and set channel to match asr channel. Boom! If I leave it on drum then I hear the mp sounds when I press a key on asr even if local control off. So if I wanna use the pads to control asr then I set it drum and local off and match channels. Can't do both at once (duhh!). Thanks so much for the help Z!

That's the only caveat about the 3K, 1 program at a time

The only thing left is 16 levels. If you haven't already done this, set SOFT VEL CURVE=VEL 2 and set 16 levels:VELOCITY

Next step is a new mbox for protools and I'm good!!!!
