1- destructive EQ in TRIM ala bit convert/ringmod with PREVIEW and "create new file" option. this would be useful in terms of pre-eq, ie if your sample has a lot of record hiss or needle rumble you could just take that out before chopping. or, if one of your snares is missing a pop, just drag it into trimeq and touch it up. this idea was prompted by the folks who would miss filter2.

2- some creative use of SIMULT to simulate os1's velocitative range function WITHOUT overusing polyphony.

Nym jj brought the velocity switch layers back.

Notes
1. There is no screen of MODE+PAD7(PROGRAM).
2. The program and sample to an internal memory, save/load is cannot.
3. There is no internal sound of a metronome. (Only CLICK and SAMPLE)
4. The filter 2 was deleted.
5. There is not 4 of a layer.

6. changed part of a program
The curve of velocity pair volume changes.
The pics are updated on the OS2 site.

i dont think it was completely removed in the first place right? i'm sure that the first time i saw the site i noticed jj just cut it down to 3 layers....

these have all been mentioned at one point, but this is what i would like most right now.

these all pertain to chopping a sample in TRIM MODE...

1 - while adjusting your loop points, the ability to leave the loop playing without having to hold a pad down.

2 - improvement on how the Q-Link sliders work for adjusting loop points. when you zoom in, they still act like when they're all the way zoomed out... very jumpy. when zoomed in the sliders should become a little more sensitive so you can actually chop properly without having to use the DATA wheel.

3 - when slicing, being able to preview your sliced sample segments on the pads before it actually gets chopped... so you can play around with it a bit to make sure it'll work well. when a pad is pressed, it would also then select that particular segment and allow to adjust the start/end points of that slice. this would be a lot nicer than having to scroll through each slice one at a time & without being able to hear how they all sound together.

should be able to use a cf card as ram if hdd is installed..that would be dope as hell

or chopping via bangin on the pads..like hit the pad then hit it again when its supposed to loop and it will set the start/end points.

As far as I understand multisampling on the mpc, a sample can chromatically assigned to all pads from bank a to d. but if you want to have split zones with different instruments, you have to do a hard work around by spreading one sample over all banks and then reselecting the other pads with another sample note by note.

so the most simple solution would be to make the "whole" function applyable only to the present bank of the selected pad - OR to all banks!

sample spreads per bank then would be absolutely a blaze on the mpc!

greets

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OH! I see there has been already a fix in the OS for this! you can select the RANGE of whole now... it wasnt mentioned in the jj manual under chromatic assign... so... well
its done :P
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

addition 2: OUCH!

the "whole" range setting does not work with another sample... it seems to be a bug!

(or who ever used ONE sample tuned over 64 notes in a musical way?)

the test mode (shift +D,C,B,A) has been deleted in both JJ os. it would be nice to see the values for Qlink in the mode where you select pad velocity.

we have GPE, global program edit...

it'd be great to have GSE, global sample edit, where you could WHOLE change start/end points, where you could turn loop/altloop on to a ton of samples at one time, and change the samples' assigned MIDI notes.

I would like to see non-destructive chops supported in keygroups. I can see having a sample chopped with ndc where I might want to make an instrument out of one of the chops. I wouldn't want to have to slice to a new sample if I already have it chopped with ndc.

Ok, i'm not sure if anyone has posted anything like this as I didn't have time to check.A 2 Channel clock divider would be insane and I would actually get this OS for my machine just for thethe Drum Grid and This if it were implemented. If you're not familiar with clock dividers here's how they work.Let's say I have a beat running at 180-200 BPM in my machine and I would like to send clock out to an analog style sequencer like my Future Retro Revolution.Well obviously 16 step sequences at 200 BPM are going to go by too quick. So if I sent MIDI clock out on Out A at 200 BPM I can sync my Jomox Xbase999 in realtime.Ok so on Out B I want to run my Revolution Sequences at 100 BPM so it can lay back a bit without me having to link 2 sequence patterns programmed in eighth notes. My Dave Smith MEK has this feature on its internal 16 step sequencer so the need is not as odd as it might seem.Back in the 80s you could buy a standalone MIDI clock divider but finding one now is fairly difficult.Cheers.

I would like the ability to export / render entire tracks into individual or whole wave or midi files.
I use my MP 1K as a loop box for Acid and I have to manually record each track individually into the PC.
Rendering each track as an individual file would be a GODSEND.

The export / render option would allow you to choose the type of export you want.
The default option, is to export / render the entire song to a single .WAV or midi file, which is usually what you want - however, if you plan on mastering your song in a DAW, you will want to use the All tracks to separate files option: All tracks to separate (.WAV or midi) files would create as many files as you have tracks.

When you export / render your song to multiple files, the track name and number will automatically append to the files.

Example:
Tr: 01- Beat = 1- Beat
Tr: 02- Piano = 2- Piano
etc
etc

Drum Pattern of split sample

Id love to be able to chop my sample then hit a button and it would automaticly throw the chops into a program and also place each chop on a drum track . SO if i chop a perfect loop will play perfectly but with each sound on a pad .

This would be the best thing for me .

Does this make sense ?

Sorry, not going to read through all 9 pages. Here's a feature I'd love to see:

Being able to render your tracks to an audio file (similar to FL or Acid) rather than having to resample. Seems like an unnecessary process. Maybe it's not possible though...

I would love to have the panic function back for solving hanging midi notes. The Akai OS have this on both the 1000 and 2000 and it's an excellent function.

Another tiny thing which I found very handy from the Akai os is note repeat hold available in the program\note screen.

I use that screen to change the notes of the pads to make it possible to play melodies on a couple of pads next to each other. A lot of my melodies are played with note repeat on. The problem I have now is that I need to hold the note repeat button all the time and I also have to select the pads and use the scroll wheel to change assigned notes. Often if I release the noterepeat and press it again the tempo is changed.
