NO DOUBT. who here remembers when the 1000 used to randomly drop samples out (usually after 29 minutes).
the 1000 has had issues from the beginning.

antonym wrote:someday i may switch entirely to reaper but i doubt it

man, i love reaper to death as my main DAW, and i try to make the switch every couple weeks for making beats. but it nevers feels comfortable enough for me to make beats in it. something always feels a bit off when i try to do beats on the computer.

damn punchdrunk i remember when that sample glitch would happen. wasnt that 1.5 os or l.6 os? i rmemeber practicicng for an hour on my new mpc and playing back some sequences then trying to figure out where my kick drums went. wait a minute didn't that glitch sart all the way back from 1.3 os?

i'm glad that after a year of using the 1000. i finally undersotod midi and realised that with a good sound interface, good midi controller, good laptop/desktop i could do the same things i was doing with the 1000 bu this time with a smoother workflow.

but looking back at the bad timinng i figured it out that is was bad timing because i demoed out an sp 606 and 2000xl and it was able to figure out my tappingand time it properly and not just throw the samples where it feels like.

i been pissed. remember when the mpc 1000 had crappy timing before os 1.6? yea, i have had gripes with the 1000 from that point. my solution is to no longer support akai and to help pronmote awareness that with a decent audio interface, daw software, and a pad controller you can do more things plus you can onwload porn.

i am sure that once akai loses a large part of their customerbase they will be more cooperative. i ams trictly software now after reading about akai's dumb business practices.

I use my MPC1000 when I want a diff workflow.
but my MAIN weapons of choice is my AkaiMPD24, M-audio Radium49, Reason 4 and PT7.3 with some plug-ins to die for.

LOL, If akai never came out with the new Pads for the 1000, would there be an update 2.11?

Someone wrote that if your pads are bad that Akai will replace them, is this true? If so, is this only if you are still under waranty?

just bought an mpc 1000 and checked the pads and they were the new pads. It came in a black box, 128 CF Card, Black Backing but my manual says V 2.0 and not V2.11 like i've been reading in some replies.

the 2.11 isn't info you would get from the manual, it's the version of the Akai OS that the unit ships with.

seriously this f_cking sucks. Akai is a company of liars and rude businessmen. I've been waiting for those "upgrade" pads for almost a month now cause they run out of them like in a sec. I'm pissed of to wait and it still pisses me off paying 200$ for the basic WORKING pads. arrrrgh

it is possible to switch your old pads with new pads from MPCs purchased at music stores.

akai passed the buck. some don't keep it.

does anyone think Akai will lower the price on the pad upgrade? $200 seems a little steep...

So have we figured out a way to tell if a new consumer is buying a 1000 with the pad fix or not?
