Overdubbing drum tracks

hey all

got this beat which requires me to go double time on the hi hats.

so I assign the same sounding hi hats to two different pads.

when I record it only picks up the sound from one pad only. not both.

so I tried recording the hats by just doing the double time on the one pad, but still it doesn't record it right.

what the? am I missing something?

please help

do you have timing correct on? go to TC and see if its off or set to a note. if its on it will move all your hits to the next note specified in the TC screen.

however u can use it to ur advantage also. i have the latest OS but id assume its the same but..

hold down note repeat (white button) and on the bottom of your screen you will see the timing correct screen choices, pick one with the f buttons and then hold one of the high hat pads. it will automatically repeat and place it on the correct timing note. if it sounds to mechanical turn off timing contol (in the tc tab) and do it freestyle.

seems like an issue with having your tracks on mono... have you tried going to the program in which the hi-hat is in and checking to see if it is in poly?

hey all cool guys, it was just a matter of using the timing correct feature and changing the t.c. for the assigned track which had the hihats!

and all the shit is in poly too!

Can't you just set the TC to the resolution you want, and hold the pad while holding the tap tempo button?
