Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i was lising to some records through my mpc and it was all goin good i recorded a feww samples but when i played them back they where crackly and distorted, but not un recorded. is there a setting that i am blind to or do i have a major problem with my 2kxl.

are you running your tt through a mixer first? to my knowledge the only mpc that can input a tt directly is the 4000. if not you need to pick up a cheap dj mixer.

yes i have a dj mixer, a dxmo6 and i really like it. i have made beats with the 2kxl, this problem happend randomly. I do not have the 8 outs, but if i am correct i belive that has another digital input, do you need to have a digital ouput for the digital in (yello plug) or what.

make sure your samples arent clipping on the way in. With out being there its kind of hard to say, This is pretty much trial and error.. I would just find out what gives you a healthy recording.

im staring to think its time to update the os its old. seems like an software issue because it monitors fine but records crackly.

Same thing happened to me a few years back. It turned out it was chaep memory that I installed in my unit. Once I got new memory sticks for it the "crackling ordeal" went away.

thanks for the help man, what kind of memory did u put in it the seccond time. im looking at the stuff on ebay cuz its dirt cheap. could almost replace it 3 times compared to the stuff on mpcstuff,com.

it is not my records it plays fine untill i start sampling. im goin to check the ram when i hae the money/time
