anyone know where to get a IISDMC card reader?

Good luck on finding one...They seem to be discontinued...I was lucky to cop one before the became hard to find. From what I read on these boards, you're best off buying a kit from VST or something. It'll cost you but when people post on here about a different card reader, mostly they report back saying it didn't work or was read-only.

its about $50
it only works in the xl. and make sure you select the read\write drive. they sell the read only drive for the same price so dont get the wrong one. this drive is on midicase.com's drive list.

and it def works as a read/write MCD? if so, i shall get it...any advice on how to power it(is there splicing involved?) or does it take the same power as the zip I have?

if it's zip (not floppy) then it should take the same power. meaning, just unplugging the zip and attaching the card reader.

it works i have a couple drives and thats one of them.

no its not that one. apparently im the only one who has one of those that works. but this is different.

Well, I bought one of those from Addonics. It don't work with the MPC. @ LunaticBastard, I must have missed your last post on this subject.

got my reader/writer today in the mail. before i go and do surgery on the MPC, do i have to upgrade the OS in order for this to work? Lunatic, you sure this one is the one that works? the above posts are confusing me now.

I first installed my card reader with OS 1.14 and that worked perfectly. I only upgraded to OS 1.20 to be able to have 1GB partitions. What OS you running?

1.14 .... but next week i am trying to do the laptop HD also...if 1.14 will do both, then i am good money.
