New to the board

Juat wanted to say hello to everyone and I hope to gain a lot of know how fron you guys.

One question though. With the JJ system (3.05) I brought a new 1G memory card and im trying to format it, but it keeps tellin me to insert the card..but its snug in there. Is this one of the down sides to the upgrade?

hell to you too!

there are no down sides to the upgrade. it sounds like you might have a CF card/reader problem. can you save to your cf card? look inside your cf slot. are any of those pins bent?

nope..i can load the 32mb that came with it and it works fine...i think imma have to have my friend do "hands on" for about a week..then i can go from there..thanks guys..im a newbie but i learn fast! Both my little brothers are into music (both have cd's out) and i want to make a family biz out of this so im just trying to learn as much as i can in due time. :wink:

Yeah, sounds like your card might be dodge. Maybe funny brand or somethin. If it's a new one try swap it at the store, maybe a faulty.

ok update. Went to guitar center to see about my card...while waiting on a salesperson (they were busy as heck) i put my card in the MPC 1000 they had on display..and what do you know.it read it. Guess ill have to see if the upgrade is not reconizing a 1G card. So whats the diff from the 3.05 upgrade to the 3.08?

After reading a few fourms...i think my system has a few bugs. One post I read said something about 3.05 not reading cards over 256MB. So please..any advise would be very very helpful. If I load up 3.08 and pay for a password, would this help. Or would just putting the original os back on there be my best bet?
Also im working with vista (which sucks). would switching to a XP system work better when i get the problems straighten out? USB only...no recording software as of yet...mbox in a month or so with pro tools.
