MPC60 OS 3.02???

hi to all!
could get the os 3.02 eprom for the mpc60 really cheap...

but i cant find any information about the os???
whats the difference to 3.10 and is it possible to update it with floppy disk?
and: is it possible to update the 60 with the scsi-kit at 3.02?

I believe OS 3.2 was on the last batch of MPC60II's and if you have that hen you won't really need 3.10 because it already does things that the 3.10 can pretty much.

It's been a while but there are some real differences between them.
It's better than v2 but not the same as 3.10e.
If I remember I'll post, but there's somethings really missing.

No floppy update to make it jump to 3.10E.

3.10E needed to work with the MARION SCSI OPTION.

I can tell you onw **** big difference,you will stay at 5.0 seconds sampling per sample,thats the biggest difference,but for 40 bucks its a very good Deal,hätt ich jetzt gerad kohle gehabt wärs jetzt mein eprom zeugs

Dont worry, you would need a $300 expansion board to use SCSI on the 60 anyway.

aber was nützt es mir wenn ich ein os habe, wo kein scsi möglich ist...

another question:

how hard is it to update the eprom?

are there any pictures or infos available?
as far as i understand i only have to solder the old eprom out, put the new one into the mpc and i am ready to go, right?
or do i miss something?


think i will try the 3.02 when its not to difficult....

I don't even think you have to solder it. It should be a chip with teeth on it and you need to pull out the Rom and then pop the new one in.

i will go for the 3.02

scsi is not primary, but the other software features are essential (cause i switched from the 25k jjos)

i got 3.02 and the scsi works fine... but 5 sec sampling time. AND i think (i've just begun and got it hooked to a s 950) you can't keep a sequence if you want to record new sound... since i just record to the 950 i havn't figured out yet, but can check when i get home

Wow really you can't record a new sound without losing the existing sequences? Someone on here said that this doesn't happen with OS 3.02 he must of been full of BS.

Yesss, now i've checked, you can't keep sequences when sampling new sounds...
