Installed the new pad redesign kit. I was wondering if there is anything special I need to do to optimize the triggering?

I just updated JJOS to 4.96. Is there anything else?

thanks,

I am getting double hits on the new pads, is there something I need to check on the sensitivity level or something?

please help...

I'm interested in hearing about this too...I don't have new pads on my 1000 yet, but would like to soon...

Anyone have thoughts on this?

They are double triggering cause they are new. Give them time to break in and they will be fine.

so pads have a break-in period?? :o :?

it has nothing to do with the pads breaking in. almost everyone double triggers pads when they first get a new mpc. it's because you're not hitting them right. your fingers are bouncing off the pad and hitting it a second time. you'll get used to hitting the pads and it will go away.

Than how do you explain someone who has had a 1k for awhile...has no problem with the double triggering..than gets new pads or a new MPC...lo and behold the pads are double triggering??!! Honestly, just keep using them and they will break in...and no double triggering anymore. Adjusting sensitivity will not stop the pads from double triggering...only repeated use does...and it has nothing to do with somehow gradually overtime learning how to hit the pads in a specific way.

Are you hitting the pads with two fingers per pad or one finger per pad?

I don't even own a 1000. But I would imagine that the new pads have a higher sensitivity now than the older ones, plus from what I hear, the pads are more square-like. So your pads might be registering double hits because of two finger hits.

i bought a used 2000xl back in 2001. for the first few months, i was double-triggering pads until i finally got used to hitting them. it wasn't the pads "breaking in", it was a used mpc, the pads would have been "broken in" already.

even now that i'm on a 2500, every so often i'll double trigger pads, and i admit that it's because i'm hitting the pad twice.

i guarantee that if this guy lets someone who has had the 1000 with the new pads for a while use it, they're not going to double-trigger.

mike is rite,

if you hit the pads and u are letting the rubber bounce your finger off the pad, then u will get double hits,

if you try hitting the pad nimbley with a sort of pull back motion you shud be cool., i was trying this on my friends 1k.

hitting the mpc pads is alot like making love to a beutiful woman,
press her buttons the rite way, she will be purring like a cat

because you were using a 1k with the og pads which are wack. now you have the new pads which are more like real mpc pads. maybe thats why?

or a new(er) MPC 1000 before the pad fix...duh...and has used a few different MPC's as well.
