New black mpc 1000 has new pads inside [Updated w/Pics]

three of us have (21)K1 as the beginning of the SN on the outside of the box, its not confirmed but its a start. maybe we can look into that.

well, i should be receiving my 1k tommorow from americanmusical.com..ill let yall know if my sn begins with (21)K1..perhaps there is something to that..

I would put money down that the 21 K1 sn has the new pad as I checked one at Music Go Round a few weeks ago and it had that SN.

I installed the pad upgrade/modification as Akai calls it. Well, it works and does feel different too.

I think I like the new one better for sure.

aight, it's here!! ..NEW PADS.. and the sn reads "(21)K1xxxxxx.."

excellent..this being my first mpc, i dont have anything to compare them to but..they have a very nice cushioned feel, definitely quality rubber

I've heard the new ones will take a little getting used to after using the old ones for so long...

hey guys, i will probably be getting an mpc 1000 soon at guitar center. ill keep a lookout for the 21k1 serial # on the box before i buy. ill also repost up here if i do confirm its got the new pads. thanks again for the headsup!!

I just bought mine yesterday (1/20/08) and the first thing I noticed was the new black box, rather then the ugly jungle themed blue one, and the pads inside had a completely better feel.

Not anymore are they stiff and uneasy. You can feel more cushion to the pushin' and is just overall a more enjoyable machine to use.
