hard drive partitions

I partioned an external hard drive with an mpc2000, but my 4000 doesn't recognize anything in partitions n-z it sees the partitions but not whats in them

How big is the hard drive? MPC2000's (non XL) are only compatible with 1 gig hard drives and smaller, maybe formatting it on the 2000 was the problem? Try to format it some other way, on the 4k there's not an option to format?

my mpc 2000 nonxl drive was 9gb with a zip and jaz drive in the scsi chain, but if u have the os1.72 on the hard drive erase that file first

Really? I read it only takes to a 1 gig and tha's why I got a one gig. You learn something new every day...

I don't think i have an os on that disc, but if i do....why would the mpc read the first half of the drive....? also how can i ersae that os and not damage my other files?
