recording synths and leads from the korg r3

yes ive searched,

but, i just got the r3 and i have the midi's connected properly,
(according to both manuals),

but my objective to is to record synths from the r3 into the mpc.

i have the mpc on track 3, midi field is midi, midi is on 1A, and the program is on No. 25, ( the poly synth of the r3) but when i play the r3, no sound.
what am i doing wrong?

what happens when you hit play on your ipod but don't have any headphones plugged in? no sound, right?

you need to have the audio outputs of the r3 sent somewhere. i would recommend connecting them to the mpc's inputs and then turning on input-thru.

ok, so I got the r3 synced with the 25hunid,

made a few beats, with it but when I try to resample the song in record mode,
it only takes in the mpc's sounds and not the r3's,

so my question is.

how do i go about recording the r3's sequence's that are synced with the
beats that i made off of the mpc?

you'll need to record the r3's audio to a track on the mpc. right now the r3's sound is just being sent "thru" the mpc's inputs to it's outputs and it's sound is playing along with the mpc. the sound isn't actually in the mpc, so when you're recording your song from the internal mixer, it's not including the r3.

look up direct record in the manual, and direct record the audio from the r3 to a track on the mpc. once that's done, you can turn off input thru and disconnect the r3 since it's audio will be on the mpc. then you should be able to record the sequence to a single wav file.

if reading the manual doesn't help with direct record, try searching for it on youtube. there's a video which shows exactly how to use it by recording an external sound module into the mpc.
