quick question:

i am on 4.75, but upgraded to the latest to find that the same problem exists. so im wondering if anyone is experiencing this, or could it just be my synth. heres the problem:

i have midi my midi lines hooked up correctly first of all.
i have the audio the synth running through another sampler into the mpc.

the problem is that when i play the synth with the keyboard, it cuts off all of the other samples except the kick. so i autochromated an empty program and i can play the synth patch with out a problem.

my midi settings are setup like this:

active track to receive channel: all (ive tried all midi channels and get the same problem)

soft thru is setto as track: but i switched it to omni ab, omni a, and omni b, no good.

program change is off

im guessing its the synth, but ive gone through and there isnt much to the midi. its a kawai k1.

if anyone has had this issue, please let me knw.

thanks

peace

make sure you are on a separate track with either a blank program selected or program: OFF when playing the synth

right. ive done that and it still happens. it doesnt make sense because if i am on a blank track, with no program loaded, it shouldnt affect other tracks. im stumped on this one for real.

thanks for the response btw.

weird.... have you checked your polyphony meter ?

yeah, i thought of that too, because that is exactly what it sounds like. it sounds as if the mpc is maxing out. but my tracks are fairly simple. and the meter is not even 1/2 full.

thanks for the reply.

sure...

i have the outs of the synth running to the ins of a yamaha su700, for fx and sound processing. the kawai(synth) has no on board fx or filters. then i have the outs of the su700 running to the inputs of the mpc.

midi is out from the synth, in to mpc midi channel.

mmmmm.... have you got the track type on MIDI ?
( still should work though )

I would record the synth line into your daw program of choice and send it from there to the mpc. that way you'll be able to see all the messages on your midi line and maybe filter some out. you might have some ALL NOTE OFF message in there or something ... i dunno , good luck
:?
