Anyone buying cd's anymore?

Read an article a little while in RECORDING mag.. and it was basically stating how the digital type of media is taking over, and cds are going to phased out... made a good point of how some cars dont even come with a cd player, just an ipod(mp3 player hookup)

what was the last cd you bought if that.. or just doin the itunes, bleep thing (digital media dowloaded etc)

My first thing I bought as a kid was a record. After that I just copied stuff on tape (yeah yeah home taping is killing music blah blah blah). After that I switched to cd's for a little while. When I got the cd writer back in the days I started copying a lot of cd's that I had on tape. When I switched to vinyl I bought all the stuff I had copied on tape and cd. Never really looked back. I only buy vinyl. It's just nice and I like it like that.

Now I practically only use cd's in the car where I listen to my own stuff to figure out what needs work.

i buy vinyl, cds, mp3, tapes and whatever someone has to offer. i just love to buy new music

yea thats how it should be!! so each way of having your music for distrobution can cater to any musicians budget... but i think the total package of the cd should always be something someone wants (artwork, bio, pictures, etc...)

Haven't purchased a CD since the last time I was in Hong Kong @ HMV which was 199~ some'n.... vinyl only since...

Same thing with me, I only buy vinyl. Cd's are just an digitalized vinylformat...

But hey go for it!

im goin to be 80 and have tons of cd cases (vinyl too.) and be like whats wrong with the generation na'll days.

just copped the new styles p and ghost
also got the latest jay z and recopped JUICE All bets off

I loose CD's but never loose my vinyl. I guess u can say that shit that is classic I usually try to get on vinyl.

I only buy cd's if the artist is selling product out the trunk/show or i cant find them on itunes. So im pretty much all digital and i appreciate the convenice. I do miss the booklets but now they have digital booklets on some itunes albums so cds are becoming an endangered species for me.

I dont get nostalgia from owning something on vinyl (cept when i buy music that came out when vinyl was the standard medium)and usually when someone releases something vinyl only i look for it on mp3. Vinyl is too much of a hassle. I dont know how y'all do it.

For general listening purposes, not sampling, i prefer CD's. I might buy an album on vinyl if really love it but i rarely just sit down and listen to music like that. I just can't get into the mp3 stuff though. I find i spent way more time than necessary transfering files back and forth to my mp3 player and i was always spending too much time finding songs. I loved it for skateboarding and work when i could listen to music but outside of that, i would just pop in a cd.

i buy everything....used to only buy vinyl 12inch, but sometimes you can't find what you want in the medium you want..so I still buy CDs till this day. You can find inspiration from any medium, really.
