Owners of TR-rack please read...

Hey guys,

how do you guys edit patches?? I cant find the sound diver program . . I have tried editing the patches on the crappy 2 line screen but that is so annoying and I couldnt even get through one edit before wanting to set the damn thing on fire...

any ideas?? any other programs?? im running out of ideas..

I have'nt had my Korg TR-Rack for very long. Sounds good too, but again the programming is a pain. I'm a Mac user and I've tried Midiquest XL and Sounddiver. Not much success.

I've been thinking about MOTU Unisyn. I have been able to use a Sysex librarian prpgram to backup the original patches on the TR-Rack. This librarian could be useful for saving more stuff, if I could do some real editing from the front panel. It can be done, but it adds a few more steps.

All in all, it's a hard nut yo crack, but I'm sure here's an answer.

i havent had any luck either, ive had mine for a couple of months, i just layer the sounds with some i have created in Xpand

You cant get deep into the TR's editing capabilities via the buttons on the front of actual module -For me the sounddivers UI is horrible.... If your an XP user, Midi Quest XL is what you need... Very powerful tool- Lots of knobs and sliders at the click of a mouse all in front of you on your monitor. You can get in real deep and make changes to programs and combi's parameters

I looked up the supported modules and the TR rack was not on it.. .triton rack was however so I will try that program as soon as I get back in the lab.. (which is my bedroom haha)


Regarding Sounddiver, did you guys pay for it?? I bought my rack used so i did not get the software.. (im on a windows platform)

I actually saw that but I have a touch of the downs apparently because I thought the Trinitiy rack was different than the TR-rack...

Used TR-Rack and no included software.
But if you are a windows user, you can download that software at the Korg Trinity Club-Yahoo User Group.

Join and look under files.

1st off...

Midiout(TR Rack) > Midi in (Device)
Midiout (Mpc) > Midi in (TR Rack)

see thats why i love this board.. even my non mpc inquiries are often answered within 24 hours!

I'm lost at the gitty up.
Midiquest can't seem to find my TR-Rack, even when I try to set it up in the Midi Out/ Midi In page.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong.
I checked the help pages, but I don't get it.

OK...Quick run down. Its not 100% accurate but if you think about what your doing and what i'm saying, you'l get there.

Soooo, If your all midi'd up, from the main screen....Go to studio>>Install instruments>>>From Midi Quest website. Select Trinity Rack from the list , click ok etc then it'l install the device for you

Once The TR is installed, it'l pop up in your 'studio' window. (See picture)

If you dont see it, go to 'window' and select Cascade


Then u click 'Get' (Tab next to the default drop menu)....This is basically telling the TR rack to dump its soundset to you comp. Once this is done, you'l be ready to go. (See picture)

Hey man, got midiquest at home but no internet, how hard would it be for you to load me up the Tr Rack setup that you have?
