included effects 1000 vs 2XL

What's the difference between the standard effects for the 1000 & 2XL? I know the 1000 comes with basic effects. The 1000 is CPU friendly so a software editor is the obvious expansion.

Is the EB16 effects board essential for the 2XL? Do you even get reverb, compression and delay? The below links says no

The 2000xl does not come with any effects. I'm not familiar with the EB-16, but from what I hear, it's not really worth the price. You're probably better off with a standalone effects processor...

the eb16 is way nicer than the mpc1000's fx. i had one of them in my s3000xl. an outboard fx box would probably be nicer than both (although i know there are fx out there that arent as nice as the eb16) but would be less convienient to use.

The 2XL seems rather dry without the EB16. I'm not into fixing the song "in the mix." I don't have serious studio access.

Zzounds.com retails the card at $350. That hurts.
