Recording over tracks

Recording over tracks

k noob here. Just got an mpc 2000 and im wondering how I can record audio tracks to a metronome or over tracks that are already recorded? It seems like in sampling mode you cant do this.

Nope, sampling mode does not let audio pass through like you are thinking, no way.

You need to load some sounds into the machine first. It's all in the manual.

hm alright...so say i wanted to record a synthline (audio) what would i use to synchronize this to a tempo? beat loop?

Well depending on where the synth is coming from u could MIDI it to your MPC if the synth allows MIDI(computer or actual keyboard) or you could jus sample the synth into the mpc and play it on the pads. Now keep in mind u wont be able to hear your seq. playin or ne thing while you are sampling.

You can accomplish this by recording the audio into a basic DAW program and sync it to your beats.

Keep it simple - Think and count in bars - A sample is a sample, so treat it like one.

How many bars do you need? Sample it, set your loop points(So it loops round evenly), get a reading of the original tempo, then timestretch it to the desired tempo - Job Done!
