Man, I'm coming off mad hostile lately, Sorry dog, just trying to get the best picture of this thing, since I don't own one and have only used the 303. I have the EF 303 which I use as a midi step sequencer, but the effects on that are a little digital sounding.

ok now this is really confusing-- back to the SP303. I just got a response from three different SP303 owners earlier today on email and they each said that you can have a kick drum on pad 1 a snare on 2. Each can be tuned / pitched independently from each other. Like on the mpc's. Is this true or BS??? thanks

yo, i've got all of J-zones *ish..."pimps dont pay taxes" is my favorite...as for how i got the dj contakt hook-up, i just sent an email to the website that i saw on the inside of the cd jacket back in late 91 asking if they were ever gonna have a show in atlanta...contakt hit me back asking if i knew of any honest promoters....at the time, i was interning at stankonia recording (now i assist sometimes, nothing regular)..and the head of aquemeni records gave me a name to pass off, and one thing led to another and now we send each other a funny email once a week...he's a good dude, on the real...oh, by the way, there ARE NO honest promoters, hahaha

4. Effects are not MIDI syncable, making any kind of delay of sweeping filter unusable music-wise...

Do you know the formula for figuring out delay times so you don't have to rely on syncing to midi?

60,000 / tempo = delay time

i.e. 60,000 / 130bpms = 461.53 for a whole note delay you can divide that in half and you get 230.76 which is double the beat etc all the way down

try it - it works!!!

but you probably already knew this...

if anyone's used the yamaha su700...it's like a hardware version of acid. not really like the mpc/asr/sp series...pretty unique...for what it's worth it also came out on top in a head to head of various sampler/sequencers (including the asrx and mpc2000xl) in 'future music' magazine. i think they can be found fairly cheap now...
