HELP!!

I cant load any samples on to my mpc for some reason...

I have a compact flash disk... I also have the usb cable... It reconizes the card is in but it wont show any of the files ive placed on the card...

I'm also having alot of problems trying to update the OS...

Ive read the instructions on how to do it... when I put the bin files on the card and load it in... it doesnt reconize an OS on the card.

it also freezes everytime I insert the CF card and try doing anythiung like save/load/ ect... any suggestions would be amazing.

ive read the manual...

everytime I insert the card is freezes.
when I load it up an try an update the OS, it detects the CF but says it cant find the OS file... which I put onto the CF.
I can't save on to it because it says card full, or it freezes...
I dont know what to do at this point im pretty good with gear.

did you format your card properly?

is the mpc reading the card properly?

is your flash card working properly?

i have read a sh!tload of posts bout flash cards, i suggest u backup what is on the cf and re-format

or

look at the mpcs card reader for anything unusual, bent pins etc

or

it could be the flash card itself, it has to be said, for the amount of flash cards available on the market, only a handful work in the mpc1000.

there is a topic in this forum bout ram and cf reccomendations.

you might get a better response if you title your post something like "loading samples" or "cf card problem" so those with knowledge on the matter will hopefully see it and help you out..

ok well I checked the pins nothing is bent...
the card has data on it according to my computer...
its wierd cause it doesnt load properly when I put it in my HP's card slot it could be the brand name of CF i got, I went with some cheap one called centrios or something... im going to try getting another CF...

If your MPC is locking up after you insert your CF card it is most likely one of two things:

1) Your CF card is incompatible. Check the thread about CF cards for recommendations.

2) There are pins misaligned in your CF card reader. Keep checking. If your card does not slide in smoothly there are bent pins. I experienced this when I bought my MPC. It was used and everytime I tried to load a CF it locked up. There were MANY pins bent. Just be patient and straighten them one at a time using a jeweler's screwdriver set.

Im acutlly having a similar problem check my post out its the first one posted today. I cant load songso nto my MPC it detects it as a removable disk but when try to drag a song onto it it says please insert a disk into removable disk (G:)
