I thought of that idea too, but MoonBased said that he would provide the next sample, so.... If he wants to provide it, he van otherwise the winner does.

heres mine. id like to make a whole song, but i havent got to learn song mode, and my trip was postponed so i wont be near an mpc till after the deadline.

so its a 2 bar loop. my 2nd beat ive made so far, so be gentle :)

i will enter every single one of these, its a great way to learn, cause i'll get to see how everyone else flips it.

bobsmitt: yours was pretty dope. you made great use of the flute sample... the way you layered it over the piano was well done... also the way you chopped it later on was cool. the drums were nice & gritty and fit well with the rest of the track. the only thing i'm not too sure about is the hihat... it sounded outta place at times. i still liked it though.

foenetik: for a 2nd beat that's pretty hot. you should have added just a little bit more than just 2 bars though... some copying and pasting and making slight variations can go a long way... still some good shit and it shows potential.

i threw a lil something together today...i decided i wanted to use strictly samples from the song posted and no external sources... i also tried not to use any loops that had already been used in this thread so far either. this was all done 100% within and directly recorded from the mpc1000.

here's what i came up with... it still needs a bassline, which i may add if i have some time later on... and the drums could have sounded better if i'd used something from my breaks collection, but these were what i could chop from the paul horn track... in any case, it was fun to lay down... lemme know what you all think:
