Problem MIDI'ng sounds from Motif to MPC1000

Hey guys I have an issue (obviously). I am trying to Midi the sounds from my Motif ES7 to my MPC1000 so that I can play the sounds from my board on my MPC...or at the least play them on my board and they record onto the MPC. Heres what the set up looks like right now...

(I pretty much did what the manual told me to do)
Midi OUT B on MPC1000
Midi IN on Motif ES7
Set soft thru to off
set sync out to B

(On the main page)
Type set to Midi
Midi: 1B

Any help would be much apreciated.
