We can, why can't you?

I meant as far as a video goes...I know I could try it out without buying, but without being able to save, I might as well wait to upgrade when I get my next check, and will have some fun with it. As for my current OS, I'm running 3.06 and having fun with that.

Do I need a video to tell me OS 2 is a must have? No.

Will I watch a video of OS2 if Nym puts on together for the forum? Hell yeah I would

Ah, so you haven't even checked out the fully developed version of OS 1 yet? You'll have to do that first before you put OS 2 on there. I don't believe you have to buy OS 1 to install OS 2, you just won't be able to save in either of them if you don't buy one or both.

So instead of buying both and skipping straight to OS2, you think I should work on OS1 for a bit? After working on 3.06 for so long, would OS2 trip me up some?

Nym, you could't have said it better on this topic. I mean i can't really describe because i haven't really learned the terminology for the new os yet but, OS2 is leaps and bounds better than OS1. I can't even imagine what the 1.0 version is going to be like. I mean, yes there are bugs, but its in BETA right now, and its still tight.

Just an example that in my eyes make it worth it is the Global Program Edit (GPE). This feature is truly amazing. I have made full synths by taking a small portion of a snare and looping it and then messing with it within GPE. You can make full filter "passes" of sorts and shape the wave form of this "pass."

The new os makes it so i can never go back to anything else, that is how good it is. And i haven't really even read into the manual, all of this is off tinkering and experimenting i have done. I plan once my latest project deadline is up (new years) i'll read into this and really wrap my mind around it. I'll probably either bump this post up with more indepth reasons i feel that it is worth it or just make a new thread.

Really, I have said it before and i will say it again, JJ succeeded with this one, yesterday when i loaded this thing up, for about 2 hours, every other 2 minutes I was going "No way, you can do that. F*ck pro tools, i got it now." And when my brother came home from the hospital today, he had the same reaction. Really I don't think i can say it any better, GET THIS THING!

30 bucks man, its a blinding opportunity - and you've been wasting your life away on the clipped up free version?

serious case of false economies

guys, c'mon u lot - anyone still waitin on os1 !!! unbelievable really unbelievable.

buy os1 - 4.97b..., run it into the dirt until jj fully fixes os2 then buy that.

and thats being too cautious - eg: i tried os2 after hating what jj had cut out all the best bits of os1, but after 2hours of trying os2, i badly needed to save - it was making me do all these fierce new things coming out of simple improvements - and a focus on other techniques....i just couldnt believe it, i decided not to switch off my mpc for as many days as it would take to get the codes.......luckily the new os had me up all night - couldn't sleep for churning out these new slinky programs n sequences, by the time i was shattered jj (in japan timezone) was up and ready to send my code even before i was in bed! obviously i didnt even get to bed that day.

decided to sleep when i'm dead, or when my pads fail.

hey - sorry - no grit intended - i guess its all good, when money's tight your gonna need free stuff - ive been there totally - i remember 'borrowing' a delay pedal, just to get my £40 tr606 ripping, and true enuff the jj os is a vast improvement over the akai.

good luck.....

TALK IS CHEAP HOW ABOUT A YOUTUBE VIDEO ON OS2

hahahaha the fact that you quoted my entire monster novel-esque post on os2 before posting that made me laugh...

i'll try. my main issue was having multiple angles. i don't want to just sit there with a camera handheld as i hit pads. i wouldn't be able to do it justice.

there are these projection tools called elmos at my university which i can use to project a view of the mpc up onto a wall. i'll focus one camera on the big picture, including me standing at the side. the elmo will show the MPC- pads, screen, sliders and fingers. the other camera will zoom in on the projected screen itself.

it'll be a fairly major operation but if it helps os2 sell i'll do it.

PLEASE DO A VIDEO SO I CAN HAVE OS2 FOR MY MPC 2500 DONT WANT TO GO OUT AND BUY MPC 1000, once people see it in action it will move like hot cake

Come on man when you gonna quit buggin for a video. I am sure people here would rather make music than a tutorial/showoff os2 video! I trust what folks have to say in the forum. Its a total of $69 dollars you pay for OS1 and OS2 that's a bargain IMHO.
