Crate digger shit

Ive copped a few blue note and they were kinda nice but as far as them sounding like some really hard shit that would sound good in a hip hop beat? i aint found much on there.

Alot of the time when i sample bluenote stuff the tracks come out sounding mad laid back but i wanna make some angry battle shit right now so blue note aint much use to me.

But yeah I aint saying Im totally against using the lables I mentioned just that the sounds I get from those records aint much use to me right now.

And I have neva bought a Bluenote comp, my favourite shit from bluenote is currently Bobbi Humphries "Satin Doll"

and from CTI its Idris Mohammed "Power of Soul"

and from CBS its nothing that shit sound terrible to me all electronic synth type shit, no warmth in them recordings to me.

then your missing some pretty grimey drum sounds on blue note man.
art blakey and what not. there is a lot of music in the blue note vaults.

I cant even believe your knocking bluenote like that jpeg. Just because it doesnt have the "hiphop" quality of your preference....gordongecko is right there are so many bluenote records out there you probably havent heard barely any of them so your making a big generilzation when you say all bluenote records sound like this or any other label for that matter. Bluenote is classic and always will be..why the hell did madlib make a bluenote remix album?? cause its HOT!!! ...probably one of the most exclusive collections out there if you have the whole series.

I like to get alot of mercury records, stuff like the dells and soul groups like that, but on the bad side of that mercury has a bunch of country, which is nice if you like country, but not to make hip hop beats off of

My original point was r there any records u tend to stay away from, for whatever reason, I listed the following:

CBS, Kudu, Bluenote, CTI


as some that I tend to aviod partly cos from the limited experince i have had buying them records i did not get the sound i was after.
In addition them labels is hella obvious and been sampled hard.

Now i aint saying that there is no good music to b had from there, and i aint saying that there is no good samples to be had from them either.

What i aim saying is that I just tend to overlook those lables when im diggin for samples.

As far as staying away from labels I dont stay away from anything in particular....If I havent heard of it but the cover looks hot and it seems sampleable, theres a good chance ima cop it....
