Pads not responding at all!

So when I turn my MPC on today the pads are not responding. Everything seems normal when I turn it on, but after about 1 second I get nothing. My autoload samples won't play. I cant change screen using mode + pad, but input thru, next seq, track mute and window works. Nothing happens when I press 16 levels. I can't change the track from drum to midi, and I can't change the program, I turn the wheel but nothing happens.

I tried reloading the OS, but there's no difference. Can someone help me out?

I tried removing the RAM expansion and it then worked properly. I then replaced the RAM, and now it seems to wrk fine. Odd...

Is it the official Akai RAM expansion or some bootleg memory?

"Bootleg"? Yeah, whatever. Seems unlikely that who put his sticker on a piece of RAM would have anything to do with it, causing a software failure for a few minutes after several months of usage.

Umm....I'm talking of the PC RAM some people buy, because it's a few dollars cheaper, and which you obviously don't know of, so I guess it was Akai RAM. And the fact that it has to be twice the size of what you want the MPC to recognize to work at all might indeed be a reason for irregularities, in my opinion.
