The pads on the Fantom light up. The Fantom is great. It's light up pads w or w/o note repeat are not. I Hope these pads aren't like Roland's.

They're perfect what I do, sick Detroit Electro and Techno

but with a skilled synthesist a combined Analog and Digital interface should be able to provide a WIDE range of sounds whether your into Hip Hop, Electro, Pop, Country, Jazz ... what ever... It's a combined Analog and Digital interface. The limits are up to your imagination and skills....

Keep Dropping those Beats,

I e-mailed Roger Linn some days ago, putting my two cents in about what I'd like to see in the BoomChik and well, here take a look!
________________________________________________________________

I know that I possibly may be to late but I thought long and hard about this...
So here goes,

Make the Sample engine 12 bit, I think this will fit in with concept of unique sound in a world overflowing with 16 bit samples.
Additionally I would want one just to have a 12 bit sampler. Sure, I could go out and find something vintage, But my thought is this could be an opportunity to "Update" 12 bit sampling w/ features like resampling, Timestretch, Stereo Sampling, Large Sample times, Cooler Contemporary storage options like compact flash or USB drive support, plus any of the standard 16 bit sampling features.

I realize that this projects concept is a drum machine and therefore may be less focused on the sampling part. And if thats the case, please take my Ideas into consideration anyway for possible future projects. Thanks,

a User and Fan,

-Kahlil

Hi Kahlil,

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, the BoomChik will have the ability to reduce bit resolution to 12 bit or any other setting. Please check out our web site in the next week or so as we’ll have updated pictures and information.

Regards,

Roger Linn

Nice. I hope it's not just bit depth but also sampling rate.
Funny how Linn still refers to "BoomChik" instead of Linndrum II. Or was this email from before it was put up on the DSI site?

After,
Strangely enough, I e-mailed Roger Linn the same day Dave Smith released the new info. Roger replied on the 27th, three days later. maybe he answered that way because I referred to it as BoomChik.

$1000 for Digital
and $1300-$1800 for Analog....

That's the current rumor....

We must also take into consideration that the analog version is a 4 voice synth which means it is capable of creating sounds other than drum sounds you can also create leads, pads, strings etc.
