Somebody in here who would like to battle with / against / me? I am kind of unmotivated in the moment. Maybe a friendly competition type thing could be refreshing. Anybody willing? Plz no newjacks. You should at least know what you're doing... wow that sounded cocky LOL

firework. no rules, no shared sample. i need at least 2 weeks though, cuz i want to start something brand new and this is an inopportune time for me. next week is my spring break and i'll be going to visit my sick uncle in kentucky. nobody hears jack until both of us are done. use the time wisely, you're gonna neeeeeed it

well, i'm back

firework's last post was a very self inflated message telling me to "Stay tuned" because he was not (and i quote)

firework wrote:a beatmaker that takes a sample lets the mpc auto/chop then re-aranges the samples and lay drums on them......naaaaaaaaa duke you talking to someone that understands music.

i've yet to see evidence of firework's exceptional musical ability. so far, i've only come across his skills at talking sht from an uninformed perspective, and yall know how fond i am of that

i will not set a time span/due date until i am given evidence that our friend Sparkler here is UP to a battle.

it's like...come on, homie...

your beats are dope man, i have always liked em
we could most definitely have a friendly swagger, i'd be more than happy to do that

if firework steps up in the immediate future i might have to deal with him before we do our thing as that's on a silly grudge issue

but for us, how about something brand new from each of us? what kind of time span would you like? i'd prefer to have minimum 1 weekend to work on it as my weekdays are usually very busy

also i'd tentatively like to "match moods" with you but since music making is very spontaneous i won't be surprised if either/both of us deviate from the original plan. any ideas, though?

sounds good to me...the end of this week is lookin' like it's going to be extremely busy...so I'd say the deadline should be not this coming weekend, but the next...I know that's a ways away, but I have too much bs to take care of...I'm down for a brand new track...sampled or composed...

I'm down to try and match a mood...although I don't know what the result will be...when making music I just go with what feels right...so I might veer away from the anticipated mood...but you can pick a mood if you want

sound good?

agreed on the business factor, i swear i wish the days were twice as long.
yeah i can't really think of a mood, i was hoping you would, so let's just scratch that and "see what happens" cuz i doubt i could sit down with a mood in mind anyway

i look forward to it, keep in touch to let me know how progress goes

alright--I've completed 3 beats--the first one's is alright---the second is well...terrible...and the third I'm hoping is the one---I'm mixing it right now---so I'll be ready for Sunday---How's it looking for you?

By dtaa pla muk Sat Mar 29, 2008 9:12 pm
bad, unless there's a miracle tonight hahahah
i hate to keep using this as an excuse, but it is a reasonable one - i'm picking up my sister from the airport so we can all drive back out to kentucky tomorrow for my uncle's memorial service

we'll see what i can do in a night's time though
hhaha but if i can't come through, dirty, i give you permission to tease me with taunts of "nym chickened out"
