ok so here's the deal, the mail guy just delivered my 80GB hard drive today, that means i've got all of my peripherals for my 1k including the RAM upgrade and 2GB CF card.

my mpc1k should arrive on friday (Hopefully)

After doin alot of reading on this forum ive learned its a must to get the jj os which i will do.

i was wondering, do i format the cf card using the akai os and then use

the same card to upgrade the 1k to the jj os? then format the card again

with jj? then do i wait and format my hard drive using just the jj os?

my apologies if the question is confusing.

you dont gotta format the card that many times. unless it's loaded with shit that you dont want. the idea is to format the cf card to MPC's file format, which is FAT.

I did not think all that formatting was good for the card anyway.....

I formatted my cf with the Akai OS and installed JJ and haven't done another format sdince the first one.
