music theory ?

I mostly just sample wit my 2000xl and use my keyboard 2 play basslines. But i wanna learn some basic music theory 2 help me produce. I have no idea what chord progressions, minor ,sharp, triads and all that other " stuff" is, so i was wondering if any of yall knew of any books or cd's that could brake it all down 4 me in " english" and show me some basic music theory, with a simple explanation of what every thing is...thanx
