3 things:

1. When using the old Akai update method, always make sure that the .bin update file you want is the only one present in the root directory as the bootblock has no way of telling them apart.

2. Always perform the system default reset after an update (hold ERASE and then POWER ON)

3. The contrast settings on the display may be altered after an update, possibly causing the lit screen to appear blank. In the JJ os you hold STOP and rotate the DATA WHEEL to adjust this. The Akai OS uses a different button but if you want that info it's in the manual. I wouldn't use that Akai OS anyway unless you are really hip to the idea of a drive formatting routine that will very likely corrupt your saved data.

Uh oh... I formatted my CompactFlash, and now none of my pads are responding. Any help?

It seemed to happen right after I updated...no sound and when I press record...slight buzzing...ever experienced this?

I am stumped as well... CaLL support back and tell them whats goin on... Or wait for someone here to answer this one for you...
