Well, just a question to people here:

Do you record your main outs from the MPC 1000 into your computer, or do you resample on the MPC 1000 and then copy the .wav file to the PC?

I always figure it is best to resample in the MPC, as you avoid going through any analog stage and introducing noise or distortion... then just copy the samples over to the computer to master. But then again, I don't use any other gear realtime with the MPC... I sample the other gear, and then drop those samples into the song, so the MPC is really doing all of the mixing for a song. If you are mixing externally, it might be different.

i guess i'm a little confused... assuming you're sending stuff thru a mixer to mpc, make sure the stuff isn't clipping by the time its at the mixer, so when its at the mpc, adjust the gain/volume there as you see fit. it should just sound how its coming in! i usually don't even need my gain on the mpc on at all. and thats a beautiful thing.
