Just a FYI, i ordered mine from american musical supply on Fri. and it came in today with the new pads. So the N on the other model doesnt really mean its going to have the pads. Just thought id let you guys know.

Also, I now see why you guys who got MPC1000's with the old pads are mad. I think its good they are now putting the pads on standard, but i think its poopydoo you are being charged $180.00 to upgrade it to now standard equipment. Thats not very good customer service in my book, they should be either free or severly discounted for the faithful customers who stood by their product since day one.

If i win the lotto ill buy you all new pads.

I know...!!!

the one I want to trade it for has a serial # that starts with a K. Does that guarantee the new pads?

EDIT:

Mine starts with KT... the new one is K1...

Always set the Db to 0 when resampling. Perfect reproduction.

got one from Guitar Center yesterday and it still had old pads

I would explain the problem to them, but I had planned on stealing the pads and returning it the first time, now I just think it would be suspicious if I explained the pad problem, got one with new pads, and then returned it again

I guess I'll just have to buy some pads

**** that... guitar center will take anything back within 30 days of purchase... you can even just say you changed your mind... no questions asked really. those dudes play dumb about the pads issue, there's a reason why they're selling them brand new for $800 right now. a few of the workers may not know what's up, but i can assure you the owners that set the prices do.

if you don't wanna exchange it, try doing this... tell them that the guitar center in los angeles is selling the mpc1000 brand new for $800 (they are, i'm not making this up)... and that you want them to refund you the difference... i swear GC and sam ash have policies like that where if you find a lower price (that isnt ebay or some weird deal) they'll refund the difference [if you just recently bought it] or match the price [if you're just about to buy it]... anyways, then take those 200 bucks and buy some new pads. it will work... believe me. they can even call the store in hollywood and find out for themselves. thats messed up that they dont have the same prices in all locations... where are you located anyway?

nah I already have a 1000, I only bought the new one so that I could rip them off for a padfix.

I'm just going to return it, I don't want to make too big of a fuss
