who owns the MPC tutor ebook is it worth a buy?

I am considering to buy the Ebook "Beat making on the mpc2500"
are there any people who have this book and how usefull is it?
main question is it worth to buy.

The MPC2500 is my first MPC.
but i work with other drummachines for like 3years now and this is by far the most complicated machine I own.

I bought it and i'd have to say i felt like it worth the grip at the time. I'd recommend it to new users as well as anyone who wants pointers on work flow. Its kinda cool, the tutorials come with the actual samples that are being used by author which is helpful considering your not just reading the manual your executing as well. I would love to say the factory manual was exciting, but for me, it was not. The tutorial actually helped me cut my teeth on the MPC, not to mention it helps support the site! peace

I would recommend buying it, its not too much dif than the manual though.

I would defo recommend it...i got my MPC at the beggining of dec and bought the tutorial almost str8 away...its really good...explains things clearly and simply

If you're new to the MPC then it is a great investment.

The first couple of pages are similar to what you might find in the manual. But then it gets deeper and really shows some interesting ideas and techniques for using your MPC. So it shows more than what you find in the manual, alot more (in my opinion). Shows some basic drum sequencing principles and ideas for layering and velocity layering your samples to make the hits in your kits have more variation.

I was also impressed with the sound design ideas using the 2500's re-sampling. The free tutorial they have on the website for re-designing decay tails had me sold.

But don't forget to read your manual anyway.

I'm gonna give it a try with the ebook.
But do you guys use the mpc as a sequencer or just to make tracks (patterns)

I am still using ableton as my sequencer.
Lets see what the tutorials can do for me.
